Progressive Lens Adaption Guide
Progressive Lens Adjustment Guide
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Wear Full-Time: Avoid switching back to old glasses and wear your progressives consistently.
- Understand Lens Zones: Use the top for distance, middle for intermediate, and bottom for near vision.
- Move Your Head: Turn your head slightly instead of just your eyes to focus on objects clearly.
- Practice Walking: Walk slowly while looking straight ahead to adapt to peripheral distortion.
- Use Correct Zones: Align the correct lens zone with your task (e.g., reading, computer, or distance).
- Be Patient: It may take a week or more to adjust fully. Stick with it!
Exercises to Help You Adjust
Exercise 1: Read a book while holding it at different distances. Move your eyes, not your head, to find the clearest view.
Exercise 2: Look at a fixed object (e.g., picture frame) and turn your head slowly left to right while keeping the object in focus.
Exercise 3: Walk indoors and practice looking straight ahead. For stairs, tilt your head slightly downward.
Tips for Success
- Ensure your glasses fit properly on your nose.
- Use good lighting while working or reading.
- If discomfort persists for more than two weeks, consult your optometrist.
